Axl Rose to front AC/DC for rest of Rock or Bust Tour
AUSTRALIAN rock band AC/DC has named Axl Rose as its replacement front man.
The Guns N' Roses singer will replace Brian Johnson for the rest of the band's Rock or Bust world tour.
The tour had been postponed after Johnson, who joined the band after original lead singer Bon Scott's death in 1980, was told he was at risk of going deaf.
"As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing," the band said in a statement on its website.
"We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment."
The tour will resume in Lisbon, Portugal on May 7.
Rose reunited with his Guns N' Roses band mates Slash and Duff McKagan earlier this month for their first show together in more than 20 years. The band headlines the current Coachella Music Festival in California.
