Bob Katter takes on Terri Irwin
BOB Katter has fired back at Terri Irwin after the conservationist tore him to shreds on national TV on Monday night.
Irwin, widow of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, took aim at the Kennedy MP's iconic cowboy hat after he again called for a crocodile cull in the North.
"I've never run into Bob Katter in the outback ... but I have run into him at a couple of airport lounges and he has the cleanest hat I've ever seen for a bloke who claims to be from the bush," she said on Sky's Beattie & Newman program.
Mr Katter took to social media yesterday to respond to her stinging blow, referencing rumours of a romantic link between Irwin and Gladiator star, Russell Crowe.
"Some people are upset about some of your remarks lately,' he said.
"I'd like to look after you if I could, but if you go up there (North Queensland) you might need more than a gladiator to protect you."
Mr Katter said he had spent much of his life in the bush as a prospector and cattle farmer.
