Local drama, talent and reality dominate Nine's 2014 line-up

WOULD you trust matchmakers to pick "the one" for you?

Some single Aussies will be doing just that in Channel 9's spin-off of the Danish TV series Married at First Sight.

The show, which sees single people meet each other for the first time at the altar on their wedding day, is part of Nine's 2014 programming slate, announced today.

Grammy Award winners and The Voice UK coaches Kylie Minogue and will.i.am will join The Voice coaching panel next year, alongside returning coaches Ricky Martin and Joel Madden.

Youth spin-off The Voice Kids will also debut next year, hosted by Darren McMullen and featuring coaches Madden and Delta Goodrem.

The network is rolling out an extensive crop of local drama, including the Kings Cross-set Love Child, crime drama Fat Tony & Co, a Schapelle Corby telemovie, a Gina Rinehart miniseries and the ambitious eight-part war drama Gallipoli.

Nine will also debut a new regional dating show, When Love Comes To Town, and a "fans versus favourites" and regular series of popular renovation show The Block.

No mention was made of Nine's new acquisition Australia's Got Talent, which did not rate well this year. The show is reportedly "under review".

The broadcaster also has a new current affairs show, Inside Story, and fly-on-the-wall documentary series The Embassy: Bangkok going behind the scenes at Australia's Thailand embassy.

Nine's overseas imports for next year include new Chuck Lorre comedy Mom, JJ Abram's Almost Human, The Tomorrow People, Troy and 90-minute special David Blaine Real or Magic.
