Clive Palmer 'honoured' by Samaritan nomination
BILLIONAIRE politician Clive Palmer has apparently been nominated for a Good Samaritan award.
The Good Samaritans, an organisation designed to do good in the community, introduced the awards to reward kindness, generosity and compassion.
According to the group's website the awards recognise individuals, clubs and businesses for their ability to help those most in need regardless of sex, race or religion.
There are no official details of Mr Palmer's nomination but this morning he tweeted "Honoured to be nominated for the Good Samaritan of the Year 2013. Awards to be decided next month."
Last year, Mr Palmer hosted 700 under-privileged people at a Christmas lunch at his Coolum resort. He supplied a lavish menu and gifts for attendees.
It is not known who nominated Mr Palmer or what action prompted the move.
