UPDATE 2.20pm: POLICE alleged the man involved in a shooting incident at Gracemere last night was affected by drugs.

Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow told the media this would form part of the investigation where police were called by occupants about an armed man in front of the house.

Det Insp Shadlow said there were a number of people inside the residence at the time of the incident including a child.

UPDATE 10am: The man accused over the alleged shooting incident at Gracemere last night will appear in Rockhampton's Magistrate Court tomorrow morning.

6.30am: A 41-YEAR-OLD man from Warwick has been charged over an alleged shooting incident at Gracemere last night.

Police were called to an address on Taramoore Road around 9pm following reports of a disturbance.

On arrival, police have allegedly observed a man armed with a firearm and, as a result, a police firearm has been discharged.

The Warwick man has been charged with two counts of contravene domestic violence order, threatening violence, serious assault, unlawful possess of firearm and possess drug.

He is expected to appear at the Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning.

The man was not injured during the incident.

11.20pm: The alleged offender has not suffered any serious injuries and is being treated for minor cuts and abrasions as a result of trying to break into the Gracemere house.

No police or civilians are believed to have been injured during the incident.

10.45pm: The alleged offender has been taken to Rockhampton Hospital but his condition has not been advised at this time.

10pm: A man is in custody after a police shooting incident at Gracemere tonight.

Initial reports indicate police were called to an address in the Lucas St area about 9pm after an armed man allegedly attempted to enter a home.

Police media advise that officers attended the scene and it's believed three shots were fired by police before the suspect was arrested in Taramoore Rd.

He was restrained by police but it is not known at this time if he was injured.
