How 2017 got real awkward, real quick

THIS year has been filled with some spectacular moments, like when Moonlight (finally) won an Oscar, to the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement.

But we've also been witness to some moments that have made us palpably cringe.

Whether it be British politician Jeremy Corbyn's high five mishap, or Ke$ha getting publicly rejected after asking Jerry Seinfeld for a hug. Maybe it was the privileged and wealthy Bella Hadid speaking "street", to Donald Trump's vigorous handshakes or tennis star Andy Murray taking down a reporter with one word, there have been more than a few awkward moments to contend with and yet we still can't look away.

Here are some of the most awkward moments of 2017.

KESHA TRIES TO HUG JERRY SEINFELD

Look, some people just aren't huggers as pop star Kesha found out when meeting Jerry Seinfeld.

This picture was instantly turned into a meme and went viral in February 2017, with people coming up with their own take on why the Canadian President looked so disapprovingly at the US president's hand.
